Hello! Welcome to NEW Meridian Counseling and Therapy. If you're reading up on counselors, that's great. It means you're open to learning more in order to change your life. It means you're willing to move forward. In my 25+ years as a psychologist, I've observed that that's generally the most effective mindset to have when approaching therapy.

In my years of experience and extensive training, as well as my own journey towards personal growth, I have found that focusing on the present and the future is much more helpful and rewarding than living in the trauma and memories of the past. Many of my clients come to me because they feel stuck in their lives. The challenges they've faced have halted their personal progress. I've helped people because, while I understand that recognizing and discussing the past has advantages, my unique approach to therapy is much more focused on feeling better about the present and hopeful for the future.

In addition to meeting each of my clients where they're at and finding ways to progress, I make sure that I also bring my genuine self in a professional, compassionate, and optimistic way so that counseling doesn't have to be drudgery. In fact, it can be enjoyable!

I am committed to helping you reshape your life in significant ways, finding a path toward the happiness you're looking for. Maintaining that happiness is easier when you bring and focus on the best parts of yourself instead of continuing to drag yourself through your greatest moments of misery. My goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling less burdened, more contented, and even more yourself than you were before we started this process together.

I would love to meet with you and discuss how to create the life you want to be living. You can also learn more about my approach to therapy on my professional website at davidcummins.net.

"A few years ago, you helped me while I was going through a tough time with my now ex wife. I just wanted to say thank you. I am now remarried, in a loving and trusting relationship. Your advice and insight were invaluable. I just wanted to let you know you made a difference."
